On Friday night Sept. 2nd, the varsity football team opened their 2011 season with a 35 to 6 loss to the Cumberland Valley Eagles. It was the first ever game on the newly installed artificial turf on Horn Field. Quarterback Tanner Klinefelter was 13 - 21 passing for 123 yards and 1 touchdown. Jason Milton carried the ball 12 times for 78 yards and Darrell Kendrick carried the the ball 2 times for 39 yards. In total the Lions were 24 carries for 101 yards The first score on turf will go down in history as a pass completion from Klinefelter to Mitch Baublitz who then pitched the ball to Jason Milton who took it into the end zone for the 23 yard touchdown. The Lions next contest is Friday, Sept. 9th at Manheim Township.
