The Voice of the Lions says:

The Red Lion golf team earned 4th place in Division 1 with a 13-17 record this season.

Three players placed within the top 15 averages for Div. 1:

Junior Brandon Stine was 2nd with a 78.3 avg.; Senior Mike Thomas was 9th with an 82.2 avg.; and Sophomore James Caskey placed 14th with an 84.2 avg.

All three players participated in the York County Divisions 1,2, & 3 Qualifier.

Brandon Stine advanced to the District 3 Tournament Finals with a two round total of 151 and placed 24th in District 3, but missed the Regional Qualifying Tournament by 1 stroke.

Congratulation to all our golfers and to coaches McCleary and Dimoff for their hard work this season.

The Voice of the Lions says:

The boys soccer team has finished a successful 2011 season. The JV team finished with a 9-5 record. The varsity team finished 7-5 in Division I and 8-7 overall. The team finished tied for 3rd in Div 1and missed the county playoffs on a tiebreaker. In District 3 AAA, the team finished 26 out of 46 in the power rankings, a mere 6 spots from making the District playoffs. The Lions played a tough schedule including 6 games against teams that finished in the top 20 in AAA power rankings.

Congratulations to coach Resh and the boys soccer team for a successful season.

The Lions put it on the line tonight (Oct. 21st) when they host South Western for a York-Adams Division I match of undefeated (in league play teams). This is Homecoming 2011 and the homecoming queen will be crowned in festivities just before the game starting at approximately 6:40pm with kickoff at 7:00pm. This could possibly be the first of 3 championship type games for the Lions as the winner of this game will certainly be in the drivers seat and control it's own destiny as they drive for a league title. The Lions will clash with a Mustangs squad coming off a 26-20 league win over Central York and the emotional turmoil of one of their teammates being murdered in a senseless act of violence just two weeks ago. Just like the Lions the Mustangs record now stands at 5-2.

Congratulations to Erick Althoff who last week broke the record for career punt return yards when he returned a punt 61 yards for a touchdown. He currently has 599, having passed Ed Kiser's mark set in 2005. The previous mark was Kiser's 516 yards.

Also, congratulations again to quarterback Tanner Klinefelter who set another Lions record by taking over the career passing attempts record previously held by Taylor Green at 418. Tanner now sits at 436 career passing attempts and counting.
