BOYS BASKETBALL
The Lion boys team, under head coach Steve Schmehl, is off
to a 3 – 1 start with victories of Cedar Cliff, West York and Kennard Dale. The Lions loss
came in the championship game of the Gettysburg Tournament, where they lost to host Gettysburg by 10 points.
The Lions home court opener saw them defeat the Kennard Dale Rams this past Saturday, 63
– 31 and move them to 3 and 1 on the young season.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
The Lady Lion basketball team under the leadership of Don
Dimhoff, in his 19th year as head coach, has roared out to another
great start and sits at 4 – 0 on the young season. The Lions began their season
with winning their own Tip-Off Tournament with wins over J.P. McCaskey 70 – 39
and Manheim Township in the championship game 41 – 39. The Lions then hosted
and defeated York Suburban 61 – 30, and Susquehannock 54 – 52. The Lions will
host Dallastown in their annual “Pink” game to support the fight against cancer
tomorrow night in the Fitzkee Center.
WRESTLING

SWIMMING
Red Lion Swimming got their season off to a positive start,
at home, under new head coach Nate Gentzler. The Lion girls team defeated New
Oxford easily 112 – 58, while the boys team made it much more exciting and
pulled out the close victory. Tied at 78 apiece going into the last event, the
400 meter free-style relay, the Lions came out victorious 86 – 84.
The Lion Swim teams travel to Northeastern on Thursday,
December 20th for their next meet.
CHEERLEADING
The Cheerleading team finished second in the county co-ed
team championships over the weekend. Congratulations to our competition cheerleading
squad under the direction of Ashleigh Reinert and Angie Masser.
