Senior High Orchestra

Students from the Red Lion Area Senior High Orchestra will be performing in a chamber music recital on Friday, April 20th, 2012 during first period in the auditorium.  Any available faculty is welcome to attend.

Prom Tickets and Envelopes!

Have you ever wondered where prom tickets come from?  The Class of 2012 prom tickets were entirely student designed and created by students with the help of Graphic Arts Instructor Mr. Randy Roat. The blue prom ticket was designed using Adobe Photoshop. After the initial single ticket was created, it was set up in a layout in Adobe Illustrator to make a four-up layout. After the tickets were completed, the silver envelopes were next item to be made. The envelopes were ordered and using screens set up by Mr. Roat, the “2012” logo was printed on each envelope. Students helping with the screen printing process were: Angela A., Erica M., Carly M., Brian B. & Casey D.. After the screen printing was complete the tickets were passed on to Mrs. Ludwig & Mrs. Repanshek for sale.

Here is how our wrestling team has been doing:

Our Lion grapplers have an overall record of 6 and 13, with a league record of 3 and 6. Captains for the wrestling team are Brooks Arnold, Ryan Schaeberle, and Kyle Sprenkle.

Notables for the Lions are:

Tyler Schell; who is currently tied for most pins in a season with 13. He is tied with Brad Lloyd's record. Tyler's overall record is 25 and 4.

Korey Eberly has a 24 and 4 record and is the "Top Hat Tournament" Champion this year.

Brooks Arnold has a record of 23 and 6.

The Lions look to finish the season strong.

Wow! Sorry it has been so long since I have updated the blog. I've been working on many things.

Let's get you up to date on our Winter Sports Programs.

BASKETBALL:

Our boys varsity basketball team under the head coaching of Mr. Steve Schmehl, currently stands with a record of 8-7. Captains for the Lions this year are Erik Althoff, Austin Kerchner and Dylan Kerchner. The boys continue to work on improving each and every game as shown in their win at home against Dallastown this past Tues. (1/24/12).

Our girls varsity basketball team is under the head coaching of Mr. Don Dimoff. The team seems to be on their way yet again to another Division I Championship and maybe even county or district championship. As of January 26^th, the Lady Lions are again a strong 16-1. The captains are Erica Maciejewski, Shanley Harlacker, and Janay Truiett. The Lady Lions started off the season by winning the Conestoga Valley Tip-Off Tournament. Then two big wins as they beat Archbishop Wood on Jan. 14th in the Play-by-Play classic at Philadelphia University and came back the next day to defeat Trinity High School in the Villa Classic held at Central Dauphin HS. The ladies currently have a 11-0 record in the YAIAA. Congratulations to Erica Maciejewski, who on January 20th against Dover recorded her 1,000^th career point on a foul shot late in the 4^th quarter. It also happened to be her 30^th point of the game which is also a career game-high for Erica.

Good Luck Ladies as you move on into league and district playoff action.

SWIMMING:

Our boys swim team has a record of 4 wins and 2 losses, and our girls swim team has a record of 3 wins and 3 losses. Morgan Pfaff, has set individual records in the 50 and 100 freestyle, and the relay of Emily Smeltzer, Emily Gross, Jesse North and Morgan Pfaff have set a pool and school record in the 400 Freestyle Relay.

WRESTLING:
