Varsity Golf
Sept. 10th - Red Lion Varsity Golf placed 3rd in windy
competition at Springwood Golf Club.
Central was 1st (414); Dallastown was 2nd (415); and RL was 3rd
(418). Senior Brandon Stine posted a 79,
James Caskey shot 82, Mike Renga and Kevin Crumbling both had 83, and Dylan
Reichard shot 91. Brandon Stine, James
Caskey, Mike Renga and Kevin Crumbling all received medalist honors by
finishing in the top 10.
The Varsity Golf team took 3rd place in competition at the Bridges Golf
Course. Team score was 422; Brandon
Stine shot 77, Kevin Crumbling shot
82, James Caskey had 85, Dylan Reichard had an 86, Mike Renga and Ian
Schaeffer both posted 92s. The Lions go
to Hickory Heights Golf Course on Wednesday for the last match of the season.

Boys and Girls Varsity Cross Country
The Cross country team traveled to Biglerville to take on York Tech, York
Catholic and The Canners. Both the boys
and girls teams won against all their competitors.
Individually, there were some much improved times in the girls race. Julia
Kendrick took first overall with a time of 20:53, Amanda Wivell was second
overall with a time of 21:16 and Naomi Scharf took third to complete the sweep
for the girls with a time of 21:23.
In the boys race, Caleb Gatchell came in first with a time of 16:59. Nate Pardoe, Nick McCabe, Josh Pardoe, Ethan
Gatchell and Andrew Erickson were all in the top ten to secure victory for the
Lions.
Girls Varsity Field Hockey
Red Lion 3 West York 0 –
three different players scored for the visiting Lions in their shutout win.
Cassidy Barshinger tallied the only goal of the first half with 16:01 remaining
before halftime. Teammates Ali Posey and Morgan Kuehne followed with goals five
minutes apart in the second half.
Red Lion 3 Dover 0 – the
visiting Lions used 3 second-half goals to secure the victory. Dover’s defense
held strong as both teams went to halftime without scoring. Rachael Laughhead
had 12 saves for Dover. It was Paige Taylor who broke the scoreless tie with
21:32 to go. Ali Posey added two goals.
Red Lion 5 Southwestern 2 – the
Lions cruised to another win at home with Ali Posey scoring 4 of the Lions 5
goals and Alyssa Castle adding the final goal for the Lions. Alexa Taylor and
Cassidy Barshinger each assisted Posey on a goal.
Boys Varsity Soccer
York Suburban 3 Red Lion 2 –
the Trojans earned the victory on a penalty kick with only 7 seconds remaining.
Scoring for the Lions were Dan Jones and Zach Neff.

Girls Varsity Soccer
Red Lion 2 York Suburban
1 – with the Lions down 1 – 0 at the 9
minute mark, Sam Andel tied the score at 1. Taylor Sprenkle kicked home the
game winner with the only score in the second half. Courtney Trout had 9 saves
in goal for the Lions.
Varsity Football
Sept. 14th – Lost
to Lampeter-Strasburg 21-17.
